Raniz

Daniel Raniz Raneland

I am a 41 years old software/systems architect/engineer/developer/consultant at factor10, dad, homebrewer, and (occasional) triathlete based in Varberg, Sweden.

I grew a beard some 9 years ago, tie necktie knots you probably have not seen before on Fridays (#tieday), occasionally blog about software and technology, and talk about software engineering at international conferences a few times a year.

Software engineering

I am a hands-on (i.e. I’m still good at the software part) software/system/cloud architect that brings more than 20 years of experience in professional software development and 15 as a software/system/cloud architect. I started working with Amazon Web Services in 2008 and have built and designed several services ranging from small deployments to servers in the thousands.

I have, throughout my career, always ended up taking care of the automated build systems and pipelines in whatever project I have been part of.

I am a strong proponent of lightweight development processes. Along with a general interest in Agile software development, this has led me to be fairly opinionated and involved when it comes to the development process itself. I occasionally give presentations and workshops on how to achieve lightweight and efficient processes with the support of automation and tooling at various software conferences around the world.
